Skid steer stump grinder attachments
An attachment turns a skid steer or compact track loader into a stump grinder. It only works on a carrier that fits it.
Your loader must fit it
The attachment has no engine. Your skid steer or track loader powers it with hydraulics. Before you buy, these must match:
- Hydraulic flow (gallons per minute) — standard or high flow
- Pressure range
- Mount plate — most use a quick-attach plate
- Add-on weight vs. how much your loader can lift
- Couplers and case-drain line, if needed
- Cab guarding for flying chips
Get the fit in writing from the attachment seller. Bring your carrier's make, model and year.
Add-on or a full grinder?
Attachment: Lower cost if you already own a carrier. One machine does many jobs. Big carrier may not fit tight backyards.

Will any stump grinder attachment fit my skid steer?
No. The attachment must match your machine's hydraulic flow and pressure, mount plate, weight and lift. Check both makers' specs with a dealer.
Can I finance the attachment alone?
Sometimes. Some lenders look at an attachment by itself. Others prefer it with a carrier. It depends on the lender.
Can I finance the attachment and the skid steer together?
For business use, you can ask about both in one request. Each lender decides. All financing subject to lender approval.
